Can't sing or play music? But you are an artist when it comes to graphics? Then this is your way to participate in the project! We are searching for a title and a pretty design for the cover graphic of the CD.
| Registering | There is no registration process for the Graphic Artwork Contest; simply submit any designs as indicated below. You may submit as many designs as you wish. |
| Originality | All artwork must be original. You may use public domain images. You may not use any copyrighted material (such as a photograph of Chris de Burgh, unless you have taken that picture yourself and can prove it). |
| Title Requirement | You MUST create a title to go along with your design. The title must appear on the design and it should work with your design and the idea of the project. The title should also contain the words "Chris de Burgh Fan Tribute 2007" or something to that effect. Please understand that the title is a requirement. No design can win without meeting this requirement. |
| Graphic Size | The size of your graphic should be around 10x10 cm (4x4 inches), so that it can be printed in the size of a CD cover in a HIGH quality. |
| Format | Please submit your design in a high-resolution quality jpg-format. Please do not use a low resolution. Also, please do not assume that we will ask for a higher-resolution version if we like your design. The version that you submit is the final version. A low-resolution design will not win since it will not print clearly. |
| Biography | For the creation of the Tribute CD booklet and website, we kindly ask you to also submit a little "bio" (e.g., who are you, where you are from, why you chose your design, etc) and a picture along with your submission. |
| Submission | All designs must be submitted by August 31. |
| Decision about the cover selection | We have created a sub-committee to serve as the viewing panel and to
determine the winning graphic. We will publish the winning design on
this website on September 15. This panel will view every design and
score them according to originality, layout, suitable title, overall
impression, and printing quality. It is up to each member of the
viewing panel to weigh the importance of the criteria for
himself/herself by giving a percentage point based on a 100-point
scale. The viewing panel makes the final decision as to which design
will appear as the cover graphic for the CD Set. Anyone and everyone are encouraged to participate in this project. As in the past, this does not preclude those on the graphic panel. It has always been the policy that if a member of the graphic panel submits a graphic, he/she can not vote for his/her own work, but the result of this particular member’s vote is the average of the remaining judges. The contributing panel member will in no way take part in the voting process of his/her graphic. We want each contributor to understand the scoring process and suggest that anyone who has questions or concerns to contact the panel via email by using "The committee" link. If you subscribe to our contributor mailing list, we will keep you up to date about the decision process. Please understand that we do not promise and/or guarantee that your design will make it to the final CD Set and we reserve the right to not include or refuse any design for any reason. |
| Questions | There are many items and situations that are not covered by these guidelines. Please ask any questions that you may have via the mailing list. The committee reserves the right to make any changes to the guidelines and any decisions by the committee are final. We also encourage you to use the "Previous Volumes" link to examine previous winners. |
