Rommel Carrera is a part time vocalist/ songwriter/ keyboardist based in the Philippines. An engineer by profession and currently an executive in a multinational manufacturing company, he works out of his modest home studio. His mainstream successes include : being a finalist in a Philippine songwriting contest in 1990, and a major label album (BMG) in 1996 as principal songwriter ad keyboardist for the pop band Afterschool. Influences inclued the Police, The Beatles, U2, Chris deBurge, Peter Gabriel, Paul Simon, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Johannes Brahms. Miles Davis. He is currently working on songs for a children's animated TV show in India. I've always been fascinated with Chris's "epic" songs which run through different genre and styles. Spanish Train, Ferryman, and Spaceman come to mind. "Who's Coming Tonight?" did not appear on the tribute CD. But you can download the track when you right-click and "save as" here as a bonus track. |
